Outstanding Governance Contribution

This award celebrates and recognises those individuals who have made a positive and sustained contribution to governance in their organisation, who have gone above and beyond to encourage, support and raise awareness of good governance.

The award

This award celebrates and recognises those individuals who have made a positive and sustained contribution to governance in their organisation or across the wider sector, who have gone above and beyond to encourage, support and raise awareness of good governance. They may have built powerful relationships with a variety of stakeholders, or taken on a project that had a materially positive impact, or demonstrated effective leadership in the achievement of departmental and organisational objectives.

This category is open to anyone in a governance role. This could be a Company Secretary, Head of Governance or Governance Manager, for example. Equally, it might be a Compliance Officer, trustee, non-executive or other whose work has a strong governance focus.

Relevant job titles are many and varied, reflecting the range of roles which governance covers.

Judging criteria

The judges will look for those who can demonstrate evidence of the above qualities. This might be over an extended period of time, but they will be particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate an impressive range of achievements during the year.

How to apply

Nominations will be invited from or on behalf of all individuals in the SGA community during the nomination window.

The judges' decision will be made on the basis of responses submitted in the online nomination form.
