Meet Gurpreet Dulay, partner in BDO's public sector internal audit practice.
Gurpreet is a partner in BDO's public sector internal audit practice, leading on corporate governance and risk management solutions to a range of public sector clients.
Since 2018 Gurpreet has led over 70 reviews of governance across the sport sector, ranging from smaller funded partners to larger Olympic sports bodies, to assess governance, culture and processes. He has delivered training to the sports sector on governance in Loughborough and London,
His experience includes supporting the implementation of the Code for Sports Governance, issuing thematic reports on the challenges in sports governance, and he has personally observed over 20 NGBs Board meetings, and interviewed over 30 sports Chief Executive Officers and Chairs.
More widely, Gurpreet has extensive experience of leading engagements in the public sector, and specifically with other organisations involved in the lottery distributions. These include:

- The Department for Culture, Media and Sport
Gurpreet leads BDO’s social mobility network, BRIDGE, which aims to encourage conversations and increase awareness of the impact of social mobility on improving individual’s opportunities and career development. This is a value that Gurpreet holds dearly and recognises that this is shared with many funded partners across the UK’s sport network.
