Arran Coggan is the Director of Participation for Archery GB. He is responsible for leading the strategic development of organisational ambitions aimed at membership, workforce and progression of archers.
With a wide-ranging role Arran supports a passionate group of staff and workstreams responsible for the delivery of the participation agenda. Most recently he has led the beginning of a significant membership and structure review that will seek to ensure Archery GB remains a fit for purpose membership organisation for years to come.
In his early years he found that volunteering opened many doors. Many summers spent helping at an outdoor sports centre influenced him to undertake a sports degree, rather than science or engineering, which led to several years working for PGL Adventure in a variety of roles.
After living in Brisbane for two years, Arran returned to the UK in 2003 and finally put the degree to work and embarked on a career in local government sports development, joining the world of NGBs in 2010.
A retired hockey player, Arran spends any spare time giving back to the sport by umpiring and as chair of Newark Hockey Club. He is also a trustee of Newark & Sherwood Community Voluntary Service supporting communities to be stronger, more empowered and sustainable.
