Georgina was appointed as CEO of British Fencing in 2014 following a successful fencing career during which she won several Commonwealth medals for Scotland including individual gold in 2014 and competed for Great Britain at numerous World and European Championships.
Prior to being appointed as CEO, her professional career from business consultant and strategist to operations director, saw her work with a variety of companies including Accenture and Legal & General.
Her achievements as CEO include embedding principles of good governance and sport integrity at the heart of British Fencing and establishing new ways of partnership working to maximise the wider benefits of fencing and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives, including driving a partnership between British Fencing and community organisation Maslaha to establish the highly successful ‘Muslim Girls Fence’ development project.
Georgina has fulfilled a variety of volunteer roles in fencing over the years from club to international level, including club coach, competition referee, British Fencing Board Director and Scottish Fencing Performance Director and International Federation (FIE) Safeguarding Officer. Most recently Georgina was elected as President of the FIE Women and Fencing Council and graduated from the inaugural IOC Safeguarding Officer programme.
Georgina also serves as a director on the British Olympic Association Board as an elected NGB representative.
