A passionate equality expert, Lindsay has worked in the sport sector for almost 20 years. Currently Head of Equality in the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team at Sport England she plays a role in delivering Sport England’s 10-year strategy, Uniting the Movement; contributing to the delivery of a step change in our understanding of the audiences that matter to us, the issues that impact on them and how they should be addressed so that this leads to greater diversity, inclusion and positive engagement in sport and activity.
Lindsay acts as Sport England’s rep on the Sports Council’s Equality Group (SCEG), working alongside the other UK Sport Councils on specific, strategic pieces of work that impact the sector, such as the review of the Equality Standard for Sport. Lindsay works closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the sector is confident and competent in delivering to different audiences by providing specialist support and advice. She also helps positions Sport England’s current and future work so that it has the greatest impact, ensuring that equality is high on organisation’s agendas.
Prior to working in the EDI team, Lindsay gained extensive experience working at all levels in disability sport for over ten years, examples of which include managing the £18m Inclusive Sport programme at Sport England and driving the implementation of the Inclusive and Active strategy for disabled people in sport in London.
A three-time Marathoner, Lindsay can most often be found sporting some form of hi-vis whilst running or walking around her local area. Lindsay also draws from extensive volunteer experience in the sector, including Goodgym, Junior parkrun and from being a Trustee at a local charity for people with learning disabilities.
